Hand made to order = clean.
. Many, many organic products
are handcrafted to order then shipped directly to you, to protect the
purity of organic fibers. Most organic manufacturers and
retailers do everything possible to protect finished organic
products from additional environmental contaminants. When any product is
produced en masse then stored in warehouses for weeks or months, there is high
risk of exposure to toxic fumes and chemicals that settle into organic fibers, especially if
mishandled.
Often many excellent organic suppliers
(including our favorites) do stock product in their consumer outlets with care, and
frequently have fine, clean, pure products available immediately. But DO
be cautious of any other online claims that all organic cotton and wool product
is always ready for "Immediate Delivery!!", particularly
with large ticket items like organic mattresses. If in doubt, by all means ask.
Remember too, that organic
materials are sometimes in short supply, making it difficult to produce mass
quantities of organic cotton and organic wool products, and demand can
outstrip already limited supplies of organic cotton and woolen finished goods.
There are very few organic farms raising
organic cotton and wool. In fact, less than 1% of the entire cotton market
is organic, and supplies can run short. Thankfully, demand for
organic cotton is growing, and more and more small farmers are embracing
organic and environmentally protective methods.
We are proud to
do what we can to bring our customers the best organic cotton, wool from
organically raised sheep, and vegan choices, at fair
pricing for all.
