Kyrgyzstan is 80% mountains and green hills with more than two thousand lakes spread out in territory the size of Nebraska. Kyrgyzstan's natural conditions are much better for the Merino breed to adapt. |
friendly part of the world. Shepherds there have not used pesticides or herbicides for over 20 years since their separation from communist Soviet Union.
This predominantly textile country takes pride in the care of 8 million freely grazing sheep that are sheared only once a year producing a fiber that is longer, silkier, and softer than U.S. wool. This merino fiber is naturally silky and clean due to the absence of industrialization and chemicalization in Kyrgyzstan; and is ideal for a purely luxurious comforter.
USDA certified sheep are sheared once a year for their fine Merino fur to make these lovely comforters. Plus, Merino Sheep are raised for their wool coats,
not for meat, so special attention is given to their coats. The wool is then quilted inside outstanding 300 thread count hand picked and finely made organic cotton fabric.
Comes in large reusable organic cotton bag.
Care: Non-chemical dry clean only. Spot clean as needed.
Note: Because of the wool's organic nature, the comforter has a naturally pleasant (to some) very lite odor of sheep. This smell will dissipate over time.
